Join us for our MotoGP Tour at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway, July 10 to 21, 2008 as we spend the week prior riding the Northern California Motorcycle Paradise, then dropping down through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Capping off the ride will be attending the Moto GP Motorcycle Races in beautiful Monterey, California along the Pacific Ocean.

We've 9 days to reach Monterey which gives us plenty of time to explore much of Northern California & the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Our first day will be spent riding north along the beautiful Pacific Ocean. As we ride Highway 1, you'll quickly realize this is one of these places you could see 100 times and never grow tired of. The ride is twisty, then straight, then a smooth hairpin. Just what the doctor ordered! And always just a few feet away is a broad expanse of liquid blue- the Pacific.

After taking in the Point Arena Lighthouse, what ensues is an intense frollicking through one of the twistiest sections of road in the entire state of California. There's 187 corners in a 24 mile section of road and REPAVED recently- glassy smooth! It will be one of the highlights of the entire tour.

We'll stop in the Avenue of the Giants for a quick break and make our way to Fortuna arriving in the early evening. The group will meet up for dinner at the Eel River Brewing Company next door to the hotel and proceed to greatly exaggerate our motorcycling exploits of years gone by. Then, it's just a few steps back to our lodging where we'll relax in the Jacuzzi and swim in the indoor heated pool. Bring your trunks!

The NorCal Motorcycle Paradise

Imagine the perfect day. That pretty much sums up what we've planned for you today. This is a time of motorcycling bliss.Our motorcycling nirvana is only moments away in the form of a little road called Highway 36. Named the Best Motorcycle Road in the State of California by Friction Zone Magazine. This ride climbs up from the Pacific Ocean, through a redwood forest, and begins climbing across several low mountain ranges.

WIth the Trinty Alps in the distance, you'll be able to see over 30 miles in either direction. The view is absolutely stunning and stretches off for miles across mountaintops in all directions. If we see a single other vehicle, it'll come as a surprise. WIth elevations approaching 6000 ft, this portion of the ride will stay in your mind for days to come. Afterwards we'll continue north on through the Klamath River Canyon with stretches on for a 100 miles of few towns, fewer people and little traffic.

The following day our mountain pass awaits and up and over we go in a thrilling lean angle ride to the summit. We'll stop at the top of Scott Mountain Summit and marvel at the view across the mountain tops. Breathtaking, just simply breathtaking. The morning's ride entails forests of pines, hayfields that stretch across mountain valleys and a time to sit back in the saddle and ride the day away.

After lunch in historic Weaverville, we'll traverse another of California's thrilling mountain summits of Hayfork Pass- up and over then back to Highway 36 to finish of this famous road on into Redding where we'll then climb nearly 8000 ft. Our volcano awaits- Mt Lassen.

Moto GP - Red Bull US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca Raceway While the rest of the world will be out mowing their lawns and shopping at the town mall- You and I will be at the races. After finishing up our 5 days of riding through the most scenic and curvaceous roads in the country, we'll end up on the doorstep of what has quickly proved to be one of the biggest races in North America! The bikes blaze by in a deafening roar and that alluring sweet sound passes through your very core as if warming you up like soup on a cold winters day. It's a world where the air is full of screaming fans, roaring motorcycles and the smell of race bike exhaust permeates through the air. Famous names like Bayliss, Hayden & Rossi float through the air like a cloud that won't leave, and all the while - the staccato of race bikes is never far. There are motorcycles everywhere. You can be with your own kind here, immersed in a motorcycle wonderland of vendors, new products and of course- thousands of motorcycles. Just walking the parking lot will reveal every bike ever made. Your Pashnit Motorcycle Tour will spend three whole days in this motorcycle land of ethereal bliss. With three days to play, there will be plenty of time to enjoy coastal Monterey, spend time together watching the races from Grandstand seating on Turn 4, and even ride some of the local roads like Highway 1 - Big Sur. Your tour also includes a Paddock Pass so you can come face to face with the racers and their bikes!
